Mystical narratives are a way to express one's existence and becoming in today's society.
Rene Fisher (b.1992, Arlington, Virginia) currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland. Rene Fisher is an multimedia artist working primarily in painting, sculpture and performance, via video installation. Fisher often uses a variety of media in her work in order to create the foundation of a spoken word or written short poem. Focusing on the body's physical and transcendental connection to healing, Fisher's work also explores the emotions we can identify and yet struggle to specify. Fisher's focus can best be associated with thoughts on mysticism, death, sex and psychological states. Her mystical narratives are a way to express one's existence and becoming in today's society. In an age of digital voyeurism, over-stimulation and technological dependency, Fisher uses her unique perspective to engage audiences through media platforms while simultaneously inviting the audience to engage her work in person for an even deeper, revelatory experience. The energetic engagement of her audience is Fisher’s way of inciting a dialectical exchange on today’s cultural needs & narratives.
